Sports premium is the amount of money which the Government has agreed to allocate to schools until 2016. The funding the schools receive is based upon the number of children of primary age the school has (£8000 plus £5 for every child in the school). The sports premium is to be used for 3 main areas-to increase the quality of Physical Education, increase participation in school sport and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
