Collective Worship Summer 2

This half term, our theme will be the Words of Jesus. This gives us the opportunity to explore the life and teachings of Jesus, as well as a variety of values.

We will also be celebrating Holy Trinity Sunday and our special link with Holy Trinity Church.

St George's Day Worship

Reception and Year One led our St George's Day worship in church. We were so proud of how clearly they stood at the front and spoke to the whole church as they shared the story of St George and how brave he was. They left the congregation with the challenge that next time they think, why should I, they change it to why shouldn't I?

It was wonderful to be joined by so many parents, siblings and grandparents too. One parent described it as, 'A lovely opportunity to involve family members in school life' and we would completely agree. It was also an opportunity to revisit British Values and every class contributed their ideas which you can see here.

Our Easter Service

The Year Fives led a beautiful Easter service at Holy Trinity Church. They invited each class to bring forward eggs with their ideas about why people feel joy at Easter. We enjoyed poetry, music and acting. When we got back to school, we celebrated being a community by sharing bread which the collective worship leads distributed.

Collective Worship Spring 2

Our worship focus this half term is Lent and Easter which allows us to explore the life of Jesus and a range of values. We will also celebrate Racial Justice Sunday.

Collective Worship Spring 1

Our worship focus this half term is Forgiveness which is one of our church school values. Years 5 and 6 will recognise Holocaust Memorial Day this term, completing activities to understand it's importance and holding a reflection service together to share what they have learnt. As a school, we will also celebrate the festival of Candlemas.

If you would like to explore this value at home, you might like to use the worksheet below.

Collective Worship Autumn 1

Our worship focus this half term is Peace which is one of our church school values. We have been thinking about what peace means to us and how we can ensure that our school is a peaceful place to be. Later in this half term, we will be listening to different visitors in our worships and also celebrating the International Day of Peace, reflecting on British Values.

Some of the reflections completed in our working worships.

What is special about our Collective Worship?

Our Collective Worship leaders

Thank you to our special visitor, Sue from the Methodist Church, for delivering a fantastic collective worship about the gift of peace.

International Day of Peace

For the International Day of Peace, the Collective Worship leaders planned a special worship that was held in the Peace Garden. Afterwards, everybody had the opportunity to tie a piece of ribbon onto the Peace bench to demonstrate their support of a peaceful world.
