We follow the Lincolnshire agreed syllabus for religious education, ensuring a wide knowledge and a deep and progressive understanding across at least four religions. We use a balanced approach to religious education which encompasses the aspects of believing (theology), living (human/social studies) and thinking (philosophy) and how these link together. We give the children the opportunity to engage with a range of ultimate questions about the meaning and significance of life. We provide opportunity for children to engage with their own personal reflections on the meaning of religion and belief in today’s society. The delivery of our curriculum is driven by our vision to provide an imaginative and creative programme for religious education, which is responsive to current national trends. Our religious education provides our children with a confident toolkit of enquiry and analysis skills to critically navigate text, evaluate ideas and work fruitfully with others. We use a variety of visits and visitors to enrich our teaching and deepen the children’s understanding and experience. Regardless of their starting point, our curriculum ensures all children become the best that they can be.
