Basic Skills
The basic skills of Speaking and Listening, Reading, Writing and Maths are taught daily at John Harrison CE Primary School. In all classes key skills are taught and children are given opportunities to practise skills. These skills include speaking with clarity and in different situations, punctuation and grammar, handwriting, reading comprehension and deeper understanding, times tables and number facts. The Brain Builders that are set may sometimes focus specifically on key skills but will always require that children use these skills.
