Our community is very important to us. We believe that by staff working with pupils, parents and other agencies, we can reach the best outcomes for every individual. Teachers send weekly Pings to keep parents informed about the day-to-day life of school and we hold two parents' evenings each year, as well as sending home an annual report. We encourage all parents to speak to us more frequently if a need arises. 

We work hard to ensure that children feel that their voice is heard. Our school council represent their peers to help move the school forward and there are many other pupil leadership roles such as head boy and girl, sports ambassadors, collective worship leads and digital leads. We also value our FOBS group who support the school through fundraising events.

We are pleased to welcome many visitors to our school to support our collective worship. We have close links to Holy Trinity Church and Barrow Methodist Church and take part in many events. We hold regular worships at Holy Trinity Church at special times in the church calendar.

As a village school, we value our place in the local community. We take part in local events such as the Barrow Wheelbarrow Weekend. The school council responded to a request from the parish council and joined a village litter picking initiative because they wanted Barrow ‘to look clean and tidy.’

We also develop the children’s awareness of their place within the world community. We achieve this through our curriculum, setting Brain Builders which look at how we impact the environment, giving the children access to newspapers and our partnership with a school in Tanzania.
