Beyond Our Village
We believe it is important for our children to understand that they are part of a national and global community which extends beyond our village. We develop this understanding through our visits and visitors (such as to Young Voices and visitors from SETM jobs) and through our community work. Secondary School Links
We welcome young leaders and teachers from Baysgarth school who work with the children on different aspects of the curriculum such as languages and sports. Our children also have visits to Baysgarth, taking part in events such as the Year Five Maths challenge.
Barton Foodbank
Every year, at harvest, we collect food for our local foodbank. A representative from the foodbank visits the class who is leading the worship to explain to them why it is needed and the difference their collection can make.
National Events
National events such as St George's Day and the Queen's jubilee are celebrated and also afford an extra opportunity to talk about and embed British Values. Each year, we mark events such as Remembrance Sunday when we also raise money through the sale of poppies.
